I aim to write a 50k word book in about three months. A project like divides roughly into three phases each taking about a month. The split between them isn’t exact, but this isn’t too far out.

  • Month One — we complete the outline and do the bulk of the research. By the end of the month (if not a little sooner) we will have most of the chapters blocked out. This means we will have a detailed bullet point structure that is heavily fleshed out with notes and links.
  • Month Two — we do the writing proper so that by the month end we have all chapters 75-80% complete.
  • Month Three — is all about rewriting, tweaking and final proofing.

The process is the same for longer books, but obviously with more time spent on each phase.

What stage are you at with your book? Do you need a push to help you get it over the finishing line? Yes? Then get in touch. I can help with ghostwriting, editing or as your book coach.
